Optimize UV detection for UPLC/UHPLC separations

Today’s labs require higher sensitivity to detect compounds at increasingly lower levels. ACQUITY UPLC and ACQUITY Premier Tunable UV (TUV) Detectors, coupled with our innovative ACQUITY UPLC and MaxPeak Premier column chemistries and systems, leverage ultra-low dwell volumes and low-noise, high-speed detection for productivity, sensitivity, and resolution unprecedented in HPLC techniques.

ACQUITY TUV and ACQUITY Premier TUV Detectors can interface directly in line with mass spectrometers and help streamline UPLC/UV and LC-MS workflows within your lab. With the low dispersion fluidics in Performance UPLC/UHPLC systems, you won’t need to remove the optical detector or split the flow path between the two detectors to maintain optimal resolution – ideal for speeding workflows and reducing run times.

Improve light transmission efficiency

Small bore high-capacity columns like those used with Performance UPLC/UHPLC systems produce small volume peaks. To avoid band spreading and maintain peak concentration, the detector’s flow cell volume must be correspondingly small. High light levels are also required to preserve a high signal-to-noise ratio.

The uniquely designed light-guided flow cell of the ACQUITY UPLC and ACQUITY Premier TUV Detectors was created with optimum path length and high light throughput in mind. The cell uses the internally reflective surface Teflon AF to improve light transmission efficiency by eliminating internal absorption. This design complements and maintains the significant advantages of ACQUITY UPLC and ACQUITY Premier fluidic technology.

Generate more information and process more samples, faster

High-throughput laboratories constantly need to generate more information and process more samples, while maintaining the quality of the data. In today’s laboratories, Performance UPLC/UHPLC systems can generate peaks less than 0.5 seconds wide and analysis times as little as half a minute long.

ACQUITY UPLC and ACQUITY Premier TUV Detectors have been holistically designed with ACQUTY UPLC Plus Series and ACQUITY Premier Systems, respectively, to offer a wide variety of sampling rates, from 1 to 80 Hz, that fit the requirements of any ultra-fast, ultra-performance application, while still conforming to the foundations of sensitivity and resolution. Effective integration algorithms for ultra-fast UPLC/UHPLC separations, as well as independent optimization of time constants, allow for accurate and reproducible integration.

The highest performance in UV/Visible detection for UPLC applications

ACQUITY UPLC and ACQUITY Premier TUV Detectors have been designed to provide the highest performance in UV/Visible detection for UPLC/UHPLC applications. Offering both the superior sensitivity and the linear dynamic range needed for the detection of even the lowest-level impurities, ACQUITY UPLC and ACQUITY Premier TUV Detectors enable simultaneous quantitation of major and minor compounds in both routine and complex, ultra-fast UPLC/UHPLC separations.

ACQUITY UPLC and ACQUITY Premier TUV Detectors have a linear dynamic range that extends more than 3.5 orders of magnitude, enabling the identification and quantitation of both low-level impurities (<0.01%) and their parent compounds over a wide concentration range. The unique design of ACQUITY UPLC and ACQUITY Premier light-guided flow cells delivers the same level of quality data regardless of flow cell volume and pathlength.

Stay in control with intuitive software

ACQUITY UPLC and ACQUITY Premier TUV Detectors are equipped with a customizable instrument console, so users can easily stay in control of the detector with Empower and MassLynx Software. Interactions historically done through an instrument keypad—instrument set-up, status monitoring, and diagnostics—are now easily accessible through an intuitive, easy-to-learn software interface.

The console uses a simple navigational approach combined with instrument default parameters, defined range settings, tool tips, and online help, that makes system navigation and instrument usability a snap. Furthermore, the control panel can display the operating status of the module at any time – providing assurance that the system is working properly.
